A private fishing lake, exclusive to Derwent Oaks lodge owners

Owner-only fishing on a two-acre stocked lake

Carp to 20lbs, silver fish, room for around twenty anglers. Included with every site fee.

The private lake at Derwent Oaks sits between the villages of Sutton upon Derwent and Newton upon Derwent, eight miles south-east of York. It’s a former sand quarry, landscaped and reserved entirely for lodge owners, with a uniform 2.5m depth across two acres.

The lake is stocked with a good mix of carp to 20lbs and silver fish running between 3lbs and 6lbs. A neighbouring lake is available on day ticket. Twelve-month season, lakeside plots that put the water at the foot of your decking. Fishing as it should be: quiet, exclusive, on your own terms.

Within easy reach of Yorkshire’s finest rivers

Owning at Derwent Oaks puts you on the doorstep of some of the most rewarding fishing in the north. The River Derwent runs past the park, the Tees and the Esk are an easy drive to the north, and the River Ouse with its tributaries stretches out to the south. Less than an hour by car takes you to the Yorkshire coast for sea angling at Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough and the long Whitby shoreline. Coarse, game or sea, every kind of water is within range.
